India, Malaysia elevate ties to ‘strategic partnership’

India and Malaysia elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership during talks between PM Narendra Modi and Anwar Ibrahim. The nations signed nine MoUs focusing on various issues including worker welfare, defense cooperation, and counter-terrorism. Modi emphasized mutual defense interests and a commitment to Asean centrality. India also announced a rice allocation for Malaysia.
