FIDE disqualifies Magnus Carlsen for dress-code violation

Magnus Carlsen, five-time world champion, faced disqualification from the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship for violating FIDE’s dress code by wearing jeans. Despite being fined USD 200 and instructed to change his attire, Carlsen’s refusal led to his exclusion from the Rapid championship. He criticized FIDE’s policies and stated he would not participate further.
