Bangladesh wants India to ensure early warning on water release

With at least 15 dead and nearly 48 lakh people impacted by floods in Bangladesh, the interim government urged India to provide advance notice when releasing water from shared rivers. Interim govt chief adviser Muhammad Yunus proposed a high-level mechanism with India to manage such emergencies. Flood-affected areas include Cumilla and Cox’s Bazar, with aid efforts underway.
